In this article you will learn how to remove protective tape from UPVC, but are you aware that you can avoid wasting time in cleaning by simply choosing the right masking products? Professional painters trust in Q1® masking tapes, which offer premium performance in all weather conditions and ensure residue-free removal, even on UPVC windows.

UPVC is a low-maintenance building material used as a substitute for painted wood. UPVC windows are popular because they are cheaper, but sometimes they make painters freak out because they have to be treated well. Read our tips to avoid any struggle and to know how to remove any remaining protective tape on UPVC.

Use a protective tape that is gentle with UPVC and easy to remove

What if you already messed up your UPVC windows?

What do you have to do if you accidentally leave masking tape on your windows for too long? We have 3 main solutions to get rid of any protective tape residue:

  1. use nail polish remover - put it on some cotton pads, it works beautifully even on plastic surfaces;
  2. use any lubricant or baby oil - the paraffin will soften the glue and help you wipe it away from UPVC;
  3. scratch with a blade (very gently, of course) - if the solutions above don’t work, try with your brute strength.

You will agree with us that it is easier to get it right since the very beginning. Be sure to have the best protective tape with you.
