Why did you use Q1® products for your recent jobs?
“For the last few weeks I’ve been decorating a Georgian property in the Chatham Dockyard, Kent. The grand size of the job has basically warranted having to spray it. I really needed some crisp edges and sharp lines because of the variations of colours. It had to be very sharp lines! For this particular project I’ve been using the Q1® Precision Line Masking Tape”
What features do you expect from a good masking tape when using spray painting method?
“As well as getting no bleed and creeping of paint underneath the tape, it also needs to leave no residue. There are certain tapes which after a period of time leave a tacky residue that can be a pain to remove and adds time to the job.”
Due to the delicate nature of the job, what did you require from Q1® Precision Line Masking Tape to accomplish it successfully?
“A critical thing that I needed from the product was for it to not pull any of the previous paint from the substrate. If the tape is too strong, it is quite likely that this could happen. This precision tape has just the right amount of tack to be able to grab to the surface and remove with ease, without the risk of pulling up any previously painted surface. You need a tape you can trust because at times you need to leave it down for long periods of time, and there is nothing more soul destroying than having to go back over work you have already completed. Because of it’s characteristics, Q1® Precision Line Masking Tape was just perfect!”
